Community groups

We believe community groups play a fundamental role in bringing local and international individuals and communities together. Every year, we are truly honoured to be supported by members of such organisations.  You help us raise much needed income and demonstrate VSO’s values, bringing people together to build a better future for all, to work towards our vision of a world without poverty.
A wide range of community groups including Rotary Clubs, schools and colleges, churches over 60’s clubs support VSO’s work.

If your group would like to find out more about VSO’s work one of the ways to start is to request a VSO speaker to come to talk to you. Our speakers are often Returned Volunteers and can bring alive the work of VSO and their experience of volunteering overseas.  They can inspire people in your group to become involved themselves as future volunteers, fundraisers or campaigners.

A first class project

“As a club we have enjoyed taking part in the sponsorship scheme and found it to be a first class project. Our close personal contact has given us a greater insight into the hard work and dedication shown by VSO and its volunteers.” Rotarian Davies, Rotary Club of Stockton-on-Tees.
